There are opportunities for students to participate at every year level with senior students participating as organisers and student leaders by year 12 and year 13.
Sports and Culture
Te Aroha College has a proud history of sporting and cultural involvement and success. We expect all students to become involved in the wider opportunities we offer as we see these as a vital part of school life.
As a school we excel in Volleyball and Basketball with numerous national representatives. We field teams in Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Tennis, Swimming, Athletics, Squash, Triathlon, Motocross and Equestrian. We also support individual sports including Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, Tae Kown Do and Powerlifting, Kayaking, Hunting and Fishing.
We participate regularly in Stage Challenge offering students the opportunity to experience production theatre on large scale along with regular school productions and talent events. We also offer Kapahaka and Maori Performing Arts, a variety of Music and Arts events and the ability to learn a range of instruments as part of the wider arts curriculum.
