Mathematics at Year 11 is compulsory and gaining credits towards NCEA level 1 is a major focus.
Students are placed into either the Numeracy course or into one of the Full Level 1 Achievement Standard courses based upon their performance in Year 10.
Students who enjoy Maths have the option of taking the Mathematics Expansion and Extension course. This course is intended to provide some of the more practical applications of mathematics as well as some Level 2 standards, and is taken as well as the Full NCEA level 1 course, not instead of.
